In the past, the Vecchia Osteria was an inn, a meeting place for the few inhabitants of this area and the people in transit. It was a good place to enjoy dishes prepared with simplicity, using the products of this land.
So the tradition, so the news. The owners of the inn preferred not to change anything, and despite the changing of times, the Osteria has survived to "trends" and "fashions" and still is able to tell about the past. Even today, the Vecchia Osteria is known for its traditional hospitality and warmth to host people, so that they do feel at home.

A long experience in cooking gave Gianluigi the conviction that the best results come from the search for raw materials and the careful selection of products. This is possible because of  the skilled tuscanian and senese farmers together with the richness and complex nature of the territory. This also becomes the basis for the presentation of seasonal simple, tasty and full flavour menus.
Gianluigi believes that food should essentially be a way the guests feel well and healthy, enjoying a food prepared in accordance with the season. This should be something special as a well-prepared stuffed chicken neck, a farro soup or a roasted lamb, along with other dishes and depending on the availability of ingredients.

Roberta is the landlady, the one you can entrust to be pampered. Roberta is a good wine expert and can combine the Vecchia Osteria wines with to the dishes you chose.
The wine is skilfully selected by her, so you can choose among approximately 150 labels, which mostly come from producers of Chianti Classico, Brunello - Rosso di Montalcino and Nobile – and Rosso di Montepulciano. The choice lies with the creative edge of local producers. Roberta gives special attention to wines from organic agriculture.

Roberta and Gianluigi accept even more frequent requests to bring the family’s pet at the restaurant. At the Vecchia Osteria dogs and cats are allowed if they’re not too big and you can keep them quiet! A corner for them is always guaranteed.
