A restaurant in line with the "Zero Km" philosophy

Gianluigi’s conviction is that the choice of excellent raw materials and products, sought among farmers and breeders of the rich territory of Siena, should be an important prerequisite for the production of seasonal simple and fully tasty menus.

In line with this professional and personal choice, Gianluigi offers particularly rare foods or traditional dishes, throughout the year. This food is largely appreciated by friends and affectionate, as well as by visitors passing through the area. The menu includes chicken neck, farro soup, roasted lamb, along with the typical and seasonal dishes, in accordance with the availability of ingredients.

No cans, no preservatives

 

The Vecchia Osteria cuisine does not provide for the use of canned foods, glutamate or preservatives. Roberta and Gianluigi prefer to focus on  palate tastes which remain true and never simulated by artificial substances.

The choice not to use preservatives produces the need to daily shopping and a constant attention to the amount of food produced. A natural food gives its best flavour and properties only the day it has been cooked or prepared. So far, it happens sometimes the Vecchia Osteria has to say you a dish is finished, to guarantee the absolute freshness of its products.
