Starter

Winter brings on the table delicious crude meats, including the succulent Cinta Senese salami. You can also try the medium-mature and mature pecorino cheese and the black crostini, prepared with chicken spleen or liver, or the medieval crostini prepared with an ancient sweet-and-soar sauce typical in the past of Siena. The stuffed chicken neck is always available.

First course

This is the best time for winter soups, cappellacci and fresh pasta. Due to the hard winter temperatures, the most common vegetables such as the black cabbage permit to prepared dishes as the tuscanian ribollita, impossible to find with all its original ingredients out of season.

Main course

The Vecchia Osteria offers courses full of flavour, in this season in which you certainly need to be pampered, even by our culinary arts. The guineafowl and the wild boar, typical of the Tuscan countryside are accompanied by the salama da sugo from Ferrara. This is a proposal for refined and demanding palates, served on a bed of mashed potatoes.

Side dishes, vegetables and vegetarian dishes

According to the seasonality of products and availability, the Vecchia Osteria offers you the possibility to compose vegetarian dishes combining different types of vegetables. Diced mix vegetables, cannellini beans, mushrooms, fennel are also very good side dishes to pair with the main course you selected.

Cheese

The range of cheeses offered by the Vecchia Osteria varies during the year as suppliers and producers follow the natural reproductive cycles of their herds.
In winter you can find ripened cheeses such as pecorino, which can be perfectly accompanied by mustards and Tuscan chestnut honey.
